Building excellence - The Excellence Foundation for South Sudan

The Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) is a non-profit organization that aims to promote education and socio-economic development. EFSS focuses on providing education, leadership development, and community-building initiatives to support individuals and marginalized communities through grassroots activities geared toward encouraging literacy, community peace, tolerance, and development.


A group of educated and dynamic youth registered (Registration Number 3,852) EFSS at the South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) in September 2021 to contribute to addressing urgent community needs. The organization is not limited to any specific sector or geography.

Goal

Contribute to improving the living standard of the communities of The Republic of South Sudan through community mobilization, capacity building, advocacy and strengthening of livelihoods.

Mission

To contribute to the education of young people, through a value-based system, to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society.

Strategy

A sustainable strategy to achieve the maximum, a need-based and right-based approach is initiated, ascertains the problem with full community involvement, and mobilizes all indigenous and local resources. The program goals are materialized with a helping hand from members, donor agencies, and philanthropists.

Approach

A participatory, self-help, self-sustainable approach through community involvement and the formation of volunteer groups in needy areas of the organization’s operations.

Philosophy

Sustainable community development is a dynamic process posing various needs at different phases of time. These can be dealt with through continuous interventions based on designed frameworks that incorporate the requirements projected by the communities and with the help of the communities by strategizing for public-private partnerships.

Target Groups

Our target groups include the needy men, women, and children in the communities of South Sudan who are still living in miserable conditions and deprived of the very basic necessities of life. Besides, Excellence Foundation for South Sudan will also focus on the urban populace.

Virtual Training

Our virtual "Personal Development Training Series" provides participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to package and position themselves for a fulfilled life.

Schools Contest

Annual program that challenges and inspires primary and secondary school students to excel in Debate, Speech, Speed Challenge Quiz, and Spelling Bee for public and private schools to compete with equal opportunities.

Prefects Mentorship

A one-month mentorship program for student leaders in selected primary and secondary schools to help develop essential leadership qualities such as self-confidence, humility, authenticity, and assertiveness.
